All You Need to Know About Berenice Military Base

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi opened on Wednesday, Berenice military base, located in North of Halyeeb and Shalateen triangle, Southern Egypt.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by a galaxy of Arab and foreign leaders, including, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, in addition to Defense Minister Lt. General Mohamed Zaki, Armed forces Chief-of Staff Lt. General Mohamed Farid, as well as a number of ambassadors and military attaches.

  • It is considered the largest naval base in the Middle East.
  • It was established within the framework of the Egyptian armed forces’ comprehensive development and modernization strategy, to declare their readiness for all tasks entrusted to them in the southern strategic direction.
