China and Egypt sign deal to establish an intergovernmental cooperation committee

China and Egypt have signed a deal to establish an intergovernmental cooperation committee aimed to further enhance bilateral relations, reports said Monday.

The agreement was signed by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry, China’s Xinhua news agency said.

“Egypt is one of China’s most important strategic partners among Arab countries, in the Islamic world, in Africa and among developing countries,” the agency quoted Wang as saying.
