Turkish police will start serving at Hungary’s borders with Serbia and Romania, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said Friday.
Turkey will deploy 50 police officers in Hungary as part of a protocol signed between the two countries.
The police will be serving as part of the efforts to prevent illegal migration, drug smuggling and cross-border crimes.
Soylu, who is in Hungary’s capital Budapest, met with his Hungarian counterpart Sandor Pinter in the capital Budapest. The duo also attended a delegation-level meeting.
