President Ebrahim Raisi addressed the Iranian nation on Saturday during his first televised speech since taking office on August 5. He spoke about the most important priorities and challenges of his administration.
President Raisi underlined the need for rebuilding public trust, urging the Iranian nation to cooperate to pave the way for speeding up progress of the Islamic country.
In the interview with the national TV, the president attached importance to corona vaccination, announcing that there are promising news of the import of millions of doses and acceleration of public vaccination.
“Based on assessments, domestic vaccine production could not meet the society’s need to corona vaccine; so, in order to be precise, of course, we need 100 million doses, so far 40 million doses have been imported and efforts have been made to import 100 million doses from abroad,” he stipulated.
As to his administration’s promises to build one million houses per annum, the executive chief noted that house building industry is very advanced in Iran; thus, professional predictions show that the number is really possible to come true.
Pointing to fight against corruption as one of his main pledges during the 2021 presidential campaign, Raisi noted that the cabinet plans to articulate a charter to prioritize the fight against corruption.
He went on to say that people play a key role in implementing programs of the 13th administration, noting, “I believe that people, elite and academics will cooperate. In this period, many think tanks, universities, cultural, scientific and seminary centers have written letters, expressing readiness to cooperate with the administration without demanding any financial support.”
According to the president, being trustful in dealing with people and informing them on economic and political issues are among the efforts that the administration will give importance to rebuild confidence.
“We will share important decisions with people and we consider the people as confidant,” he said, adding, “We will not make decisions on market in absentia and will definitely consult with market stakeholders.”
Raisi further referred to the Islamic Republic’s stance towards negotiations in Vienna, Austria, on the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal, saying that Tehran welcomes any honorable interaction, but a negotiation for negotiation’s sake will not be on his administration’s agenda.
