NATO-Georgia joint naval exercises held in the Black Sea

MIA Border Police Coast Guard and NATO Naval Unit ships conducted the joint naval exercise in the Black Sea, APA‘s bureau in Georgia reports citing Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The exercise was held as a part of the Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 2 (SNMCMG2) port visit.

 

MIA Border Police Coast Guard patrol boat SOKHUMI and NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 2 ships: ESPS RAYO (Spain), ROS LT LUPU DINESCU (Romania), BGS SHKVAL (Bulgaria), TCG EDINCIK (Turkey) and ITS VIAREGGIO (Italy) participated in the joint naval manoeuvres.

The purpose of the exercise is to increase the interoperability of the Georgian and NATO naval forces and strengthen our country’s defence capabilities.
