TRNC Celebrates Its 37th Anniversary

News Agencies – On 15 November 1983, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus declared its independence as a sovereign state based on the right of its people to self-determination.

The day is one of great celebration throughout north Cyprus, frequently involving air displays and military parades.

The 37th anniversary of the establishment of TRNC has been celebrated with variety of events.

According to the TRNC Public Information Office, ceremony programme started at the Dr. Fazıl Küçük Monument Tomb on 14th November at 15.00 and, due to construction work on the Rauf Raif Denktaş Mausoleum, the TMT Monument will be visited at 15.30. The wreaths were laid and the ceremonies continued with a minute of silence, the National Anthem and signing of the memorial book.

On the 15th of November celebrations started at 12.00 in front of the Lefkoşa Atatürk Monument and at 12.30 a military parade will take place at the Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard.
