Tensions rise on Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan border

Uzbekistani border guards fired guns against 3 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in the area of Dobo-Korgon, Aktam village administration, Ala-Buka district, Jalal-Abad region on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border on May 5, the Kyrgyz border service said, APA reports citing AKIpress.

Kyrgyz citizens A.K. born in 1974, A.J. born in 1998, and A.J. born in 2000 were taken to the hospital in Ala-Buka district with wounds, where they died without regaining consciousness.

In order to clarify the circumstances of the incident, the border representative of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ala-Buka immediately held a meeting with the border representative of Uzbekistan in Yangi-Kurgan.

The parties agreed to continue the meeting on May 6 based on the results of the official investigation, the statement said.
