Turkiye to start obtaining natural gas from Black Sea fields in 2023

“The first gas will be obtained from the Sakarya gas field located in the Turkish waters of the Black Sea in March 2023,” said Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez, APA-Economics reports citing Anadolu Agency.

According to him, 120 kilometers of the pipeline that will transport natural gas from its field to the land (construction started in June 2022 – ed.) has already been laid on the seabed, and only 50 kilometers have left.

The minister noted that Ankara has set as its goal the exploration and future development of all reserves within the country’s borders, including offshore (sea – ed.) zones.
