Turkiye’s IMECE satellite sends first signal to the tracking station in Ankara

Türkiye’s first observation satellite, IMECE, sent the 1st signal to the tracking station in Ankara this afternoon.  Minister of Industry Mustafa Varank and other high-ranking officials participated in the launching of the satellite.

The head of the Turkish Ministry of Industry, Mustafa Varank, personally announced that the Turkish observation satellite IMECE, launched from the Vandenberg Space Force Base, sent the 1st signal.

The satellite, designed by Tubitak Uzay, an enterprise for the development of space technologies, was sent into space at 9:47 Moscow time.

A special ceremony dedicated to the launch of the IMECE satellite in Earth orbit was organized at the tracking station of the space enterprise.

In addition to Mustafa Varank, the ceremony was attended by the head of Strategy and Budget Presidency, Ibrahim Senel, the head of the Defense Industry Department, Ismail Demir, and the management of the space enterprise.
