UN Secretary-General to visit Turkey

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will receive UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in Ankara on April 25.

“The Secretary-General will visit Ankara, Turkey, where, on 25 April, he will be received by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan,” the Office of the spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General said Saturday in a statement.

The office announced Friday that Guterres will visit Moscow on April 26 and Kyiv on April 28.

At least 2,435 civilians have been killed and 2,946 injured in Ukraine since the war began Feb. 24, according to UN estimates, with the true figure believed to be much higher.

More than 5.1 million Ukrainians have fled to other countries, with over 7.7 million more internally displaced, said the UN refugee agency.
