Britain will send Ukraine a new batch of state-of-the-art weapons and military equipment worth 100 million pounds ($130 million), Report informs citing TASS that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said this on Friday in London at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
“Last week, the UK held a donor conference during which it was possible to collect equipment and weapons for Ukraine for 1.5 billion pounds ($1.95 billion) or 2.5 million military items. Today I can also announce that the UK will send 100 million pounds worth of high-end weapons to the Ukrainian armed forces, including Starstreak anti-aircraft missiles traveling at three times the speed of sound, another 800 anti-tank missiles, as well as precision-guided munitions capable of hovering in the sky, waiting to be pointed to the target,” Johnson said.
“The Ukrainian military will also receive body armor, helmets and night vision goggles from the UK. The prime minister also stressed that the UK and Germany consider it necessary to further increase the support provided to Kyiv, as well as to strengthen military cooperation between London and Berlin. Britain and Germany will work together to ensure our armed forces are ready for the future, including by jointly producing the latest Boxer armored vehicles,” Johnson said.
The British prime minister added that the Group of Seven (G7) nations are working to tighten sanctions against all the defining components of the Russian economy and London is also closely cooperating with Berlin in this area.
