US-ASEAN summit to resume in Washington on May 12

The US-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) summit will be held in Washington on May 12-13, the White House spokesperson, Jen Psaki said.

The statement, published on the website of the department, clarifies that the event is intended to “demonstrate the commitment of the United States” to the association, recognizing its key role in providing solutions to the region’s most pressing problems.

The summit also marks the 45th anniversary of US-ASEAN relations.
