APA – The consulates of the US Embassy to Turkey in Ankara, Istanbul, Adana and Izmir have suspended operating temporarily, the Embassy said, APA’s bureau in Turkey reports.
According to the Embassy, this is due to the high probability of potential terrorist attacks and kidnappings in Turkey.
“In Istanbul and other cities of Turkey, US citizens should be careful,” the Embassy emphasized.
“The U.S. Mission in Turkey has received credible reports of potential terrorist attacks and kidnappings against U.S. citizens and foreign nationals in Istanbul, including against the U.S. Consulate General, as well as potentially other locations in Turkey,” the embassy said.
