by IRNA

As part of the United States sanctions campaign against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the US Treasury Department has imposed new sanctions on six Iranian figures, including Iran’s security officials.

The US Treasury Department claimed on Thursday that the six figures are being sanctioned because of what it said was violence against women and peaceful protestors.

The department issued sanctions on top directors of the Ministry of Information, the Basij Force, Islamic Republic of Iran Army Ground Forces and the Law Enforcement Command of Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi ordered Minister of Interior Ahmad Vahidi to investigate the reason and details of the death of an Iranian Kurdish woman named Mahsa Amini.

The president also had a phone call with her family, expressing condolences on her demise.

Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amirabdollahian has twitted that human rights is of intrinsic value in the Islamic country, censuring the US for shedding crocodile tears, while Washington continues economic terrorism against the Iranians.
