Iranians are going to commemorate Yalda Night Festivity in an atmosphere of assisting other fellow countrymen amid economic hardship.
According to Iranian culture, Yalda Night is a Northern Hemisphere’s winter solstice festival celebrated on the longest and darkest night of the year. Iranians celebrate the occasion, hold parties and read poems from renowned poet Hafez.
Iranians try to spend a good time on this night along with their families and relatives.
This is the second year that Iranians are advised to respect social distancing protocols and refrain from having parties in order to remain safe and sound during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, members of a family commemorate the traditional festival and are going to show compassion to other compatriots and human beings.
Some groups of people in Khomeyn city, Markazi province, have decided to ask other people to stop holding parties in order to fight coronavirus contamination and participate in charity works to assist poor families.
Fahimeh Hosseini, a member of Basij voluntary forces in Khomeyn, told IRNA that Khatam al-Anbia Mosque in the city is going to organize a movement in order to receive and distribute popular donations for the poor.
Maryam Ghorbani, another member of Basij voluntary forces in Khomeyn, said that they are going to coordinate with shop owners in the city to assist people to be able to buy fruits, nuts and sweets for the festivity.
Mohammad Taheri, a Basij member, asked people to assist those who are in dire need instead of preparing lofty parties and sharing photos.
