Iran and Japan exchanged information technology and digital transformation experiences

Iran and Japan emphasized sharing experiences in the field of policymaking and regulatory of communications and information technology, the head of the Iran Information Technology Organization said.

Speaking in the Internet Governance Forum (IGF, 2023) held in Kyoto, Japan, on Monday, Mohammad Khansari pointed to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its challenges that were raised by the Japanese prime minister and deputy secretary general of the United Nations in this forum.

Participating in the international forums related to Internet Governance provides a golden opportunity for clarifying the principled positions of the Islamic Republic on cyberspace governance, he emphasized.

The Internet Governance Forum is one of the most important outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society Forum 2023 (WSIS 2023) and a comprehensive platform for stakeholders to participate in the issue of internet policy, providing solution to the issues, common challenges, accelerating access of communities to the internet and also setting norms in cyberspace governance, Khansari added.

In a joint meeting held in Kyoto between the Japanese minister of digital transformation and Iran’s deputy minister of Communications and Information Technology (ICT), the two sides stressed the need for the development of cooperation in the field of digital transformation and electronic government dubbed “e-government”.
