Middle East Monitor – Israel today extended the state of emergency, which was imposed last week on the Arab city of Lod, for a further 48 hours, Arab48 reported.
This is the fourth time that the Israeli occupation authorities have extended the state of emergency in the area in less than a week. As a result, night curfews remain in force. These have not, however, quelled the aggression of right-wing Jewish mobs against the Palestinian citizens of Israel.
Arab48 reported Arab citizens saying that armed Jewish settlers arrived from the illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank to take part in the armed aggression against them.
Palestinians across Israel and within the occupied territories are holding a general strike today in solidarity with the Gaza Strip, Sheikh Jarrah and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Occupation forces have used brute force to quash protests in the occupied West Bank, with those wounded unwilling to seek medical care in hospital out of fear that their names will be passed on to the Israeli authorities leading to their detention.
