ECO Secretary General highlights the importance of Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul road corridor

The ECO Secretary General, Ambassador Khusrav Noziri, virtually participated at the International Seminar titled “Trade and Connectivity – Western Neighbourhood of Pakistan” on 25 January 2023 in Islamabad.

In his video message to the Seminar, the Secretary General highlighted the importance of cooperation on transport and connectivity for trade, economic growth and sustainable development of the countries and particularly for the ECO Region.

The Secretary General also underlined that promotion of trade and connectivity has been prioritized within the ECO framework and the ECO Secretariat is duly mandated to concentrate its efforts on developing these key sectors.

He underscored that a considerable number of programs and projects have been implemented to enhance the trade and economic integration of its Member States in the areas of road, rail, maritime, civil aviation, customs and ICT in the last 30 years and in line with the policies and decisions adopted by the leaders and ministers of the Member States.
