Foreign Minister Amirabdollahian: Iranian-Saudi talks are on the right track

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on Friday said that Iranian-Saudi talks are on the right track although further talks are needed.

He made the remarks in a press conference at the end of his visit to Lebanon, welcoming possible talks with Saudi Arabia.

Both sides have reached clear-cut agreements up to this point, he underlined.

Iran terms the existing negotiations between the two states as constructive, he said, hoping that the two sides will achieve appropriate results.

Saudi Arabia and Iran are significant countries in the region, he said, noting that that the two states play crucial roles in contributing to sustainable security in the region.

Iran is prepared to cooperate with the Lebanese government in the areas of medicine and food and, he underscored.

Iran will return to the Vienna talks, he said, noting that strong intention of the US to comply with its commitments is a criterion.

The movements of Israeli intelligence in the Republic of Azerbaijan is not in the interest of the country, he pointed out.

He went on to say that Iran will not let the Zionist regime carry out espionage activities in its neighborhood.

Iran does not consider the regime as a threat, he said, adding that the regime is not that important.
