Outstanding economist Prof. Dr. Metin Sarfati passed away.
Born in Istanbul, he studied at Galatasaray High School. He took a break from his academic life after completing his Master’s Degree in Economics at Istanbul University. Later, he completed his PhD in the same discipline at Istanbul University. He received his associate professorship in the field of “History of Economic Thought” in the French Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Political Sciences, Marmara University. He was appointed as Professor to the same department. During his tenure, he visited various Universities in France and taught lectures as “professeur invité”.
IPE Club expresses its most sincere condolences on the occasion of Prof. Dr. Metin Sarfati death. This is an irreparable loss not only for the academic environment in Turkey, but for the whole world. We are sure that the descendants will highly appreciate the works and thoughts, thus preserving the memory of him for centuries.
