Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has held a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, according to Presidential Administration of Turkiye, APA‘s correspondent in Istanbul reports.
Sweden’s and Finland’s membership in NATO has been discussed during talks.
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has made a Twitter post on the telephone conversation.
“Spoke with President of our valued Ally Turkey on the importance of NATO’s Open Door and the membership applications by Finland and Sweden. We agree that the security concerns of all Allies must be taken into account and talks need to continue to find a solution,” noted Stoltenberg.
