Tajik experts to participate in international conference on Central Asian problems in Tashkent

A Tajik delegation led by Parviz Muhammadzoda, the deputy director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Tajikistan, will participate in a two-day international conference on the Central Asian problems that will kick off in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, on February 19.  

Initiated by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the conference, dubbed “Interrelationship in Central Asia: Challenges and New Opportunities”, is expected to bring together more than 100 senior experts from think tans of more than 40 counties of the world, the source in the Tajik government told Asia-Plus in an interview.

Representatives of regional structures such as the Nordic Council, the Organization of American States (OAS), the Arctic Consultative Council as well as the World Bank, the European Investment Bank, the World Trade Organization (WTO) and some other organizations will also participate in the event.

The conference participants will discuss issues related to regional cooperation in the fields of security, trade, transportation, water consumption, education and science, the source added.
