The Saudi-led coalition targeted an old radio station in the middle of residential neighborhoods of the Al-Hasaba region in the Yemeni capital city of Sana’a, as it begins a new round of air strikes on the war-torn country.
Yemen’s Almasirah TV reported that at least four missiles fired by the coalition’s warplanes in the late hours of Monday hit the Al-Hasaba region and at least one missile hit the vicinity of a TV station building in the Al-Thawra district.
It also reported five more raids on the Jarban area in the Sanhan district of Sana’a province and two more attacks on the Al-Syanah residential neighborhood of the Al-Thawra district, but there has been no immediate report of human casualties.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Health said that around 150 civilians were killed and 350 others were injured as a result of the recent and ongoing Saudi-led violence in January, which included the slaughter of 91 prisoners at the pre-trial jail in Sa’adah.
Saudi Arabia, backed by the United States and regional allies, launched the war on Yemen in March 2015, with the goal of bringing the government of former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi back to power and crushing Ansarullah movement.
The war has left hundreds of thousands of Yemenis dead and displaced millions more. It has also destroyed Yemen’s infrastructure and spread famine and infectious diseases there.
Despite heavily-armed Saudi Arabia’s incessant bombardment of the impoverished country, the Yemeni armed forces and the Popular Committees have grown steadily in strength against the Saudi-led invaders and left Riyadh and its allies bogged down in the country.
