Britain and Ukraine to hold joint military exercises in the Black Sea

The Royal Navy of Great Britain will conduct joint naval exercises with the Ukrainian Navy to prevent “threats” in the Black Sea, said the head of the British Ministry of Defense Ben Wallace, Teller Report states citing Russia RT.

“The UK is launching multinational exercises to strengthen the Ukrainian naval forces to counter threats from the east,” – said in a statement on the website of the British Cabinet.

During a meeting in Kiev with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrey Taran and Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Ruslan Khomchak, Wallace said that Britain would send ships to the region for joint exercises in the fall.

According to the British minister, this initiative will help develop defense cooperation between the two countries.

“We have already helped thousands of Ukrainian soldiers in a range of skills, ranging from first aid to operational planning, all of which protect their territorial integrity,” the statement said.

On July 27, the Sea Breeze 2020 exercise ended in the Black Sea, in which the military from the United States, Ukraine and a number of NATO member and partner countries participated.
