The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Ground Force launched a large-scale military exercise in western Iran on Monday.

The drill was designed to practice countering security threats, anti-Revolution groups, and Takfiri and terrorist teams.

The IRGC troops employed a broad range of tactics in the war game by simulating electronic warfare, testing radar and telecommunication systems, conducting reconnaissance operations, destroying the hypothetical enemy’s bases, carrying out heliborne operations, and launching strikes involving the artillery, drone, and armored units.

Speaking to reporters, IRGC Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour said the war game included plans to foil security threats and smash outlaws and terrorist groups that receive intelligence support and equipment from the hegemonic powers.

He noted that the drill was also aimed at ensuring sustainable security, countering various levels of threats, protecting the national interests, and safeguarding the territorial integrity of Iran.
